Sound Off Lesson 1:
Safety Sounds!

Use the presentation guide, video, and activity sheet below to introduce students to the sounds smoke alarms make and what they mean, where smoke alarms should be placed in the home, the need for monthly testing, and the importance of having working smoke alarms. You’ll also find a link to download audio files you can use to demonstrate the sounds made by smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. (Be aware that these loud sounds may not be appropriate for some students. Check with the teacher beforehand.)
