How Dairy Cares

Grades: Grades 2-4

Subject Area: Language Arts

Made Possible By: American Dairy Association North East (ADANE)

At school, at home, and in their communities, students are increasingly aware of the importance of caring for the environment and the effects of climate change. But they may not be aware of how local dairy farmers are setting an example for tackling these issues. Through standards-based activities that supplement your English language arts curriculum, students will learn ways in which sustainable dairy farming practices help care for the environment, cows, and consumers.

Take a standards-supported virtual farm tour with your students to add to the learning experience. Students will get an overview of where their favorite dairy foods come from, while learning about how local farmers care for their animals and the land and use technology on the farm.
